Get The Right People in the Right Seats with the EOS® People Analyzer

What Is The EOS® People Analyzer™?

Hiring and managing people can be difficult, and solidifying if a person fits their role and your company's culture is crucial to building your team and their success. The Entrepreneurial Operating System® recognizes the challenges companies can face in hiring and the time and money it can cost if you get it wrong. To better navigate this sphere of the business world, EOS® created the People Analyzer™ tool. The intention of the People Analyzer™ is to answer two fundamental questions: Are you the right person? Are you in the right seat?

How Does It Work?

To put it simply, the EOS® People Analyzer™ will help you evaluate if you have the right person in the right seat. But what does that mean? The right person is the candidate who fits your business's core values. This person fits into your culture like a glove and is enjoyable for the team to be around. The right seat means they are good at what they do and excel in their role and on the accountability chart. The GWC metric determines the right person in the right seat. Broken down, GWC means they get it, want it, and have the capacity to do it. The EOS® People Analyzer™ offers a simple yet powerful way to assess these traits to understand how to identify strengths and weaknesses better and find more productive ways of working together.

How Do You Use The EOS® People Analyzer™?

The EOS® People Analyzer™ is made simple and effective in determining the results.

At the top of the template provided by EOS®, you are to list your company's core values. Then, down the side of the template, place the names of your employees. Using a "+ or – "symbol (or a combination of the two), you can determine if the employee aligns with your company's values. Next, do the same across the top with GWC (gets it, wants it, capacity to do it). This time, use YES or NO answers only; this will determine the results in black and white. The individual either has it or they don't.

When the assessment is done, you will better understand if that employee or candidate's values and professional skills align with their current or possible role.

In What Areas Of The Business Is The People Analyzer™ Tool Used?

The EOS® People Analyzer™ can be used in various business settings to help identify and assess if your current or potential employee will do well. The analyzer can be used across departments and can be helpful for executive teams down to entry-level positions. Remember, the goal is to ensure your employees remain in the right seats or that a candidate is the right fit. It can be used wherever those questions need answering.

When Can We Use The People Analyzer™?

Reviewing – If you are in the process of reviewing an employee's job duties and performance, the People Analyzer™ can provide insight into how well that employee is fit for their role. Are they excelling? Are they good at their job? Do they have the capacity to get the job done?

Hiring – Onboarding an employee that fits your culture is a significant piece of whether or not that person will be successful in the company. The People Analyzer™ indicates whether this person will be an excellent cultural fit for a company and if they can get the job done on the level you expect.

Promoting – Does your candidate have the characteristics your company is looking for in the next position? Do they have integrity? Are they equipped to resolve the possible business issues they may experience in a manner that is aligned with your company's core values? If you're considering promoting within, these questions can be answered by the People Analyzer™.
